Nelson Grist

Nelson Grist was born in Toronto, Ontario Canada in 1966, and was the youngest of 6 children.  Growing up, Nelson was an avid and recognized hockey player and always strived to achieve his goals.  Nelson’s goals and aspirations paid off when he received an athletic scholarship to play hockey at Plattsburgh State University of New York.  While attending University, he earned a Bachelors degree in Marketing and Business Administration.  Thus starts the impressive career of Nelson Grist.

Nelson was recruited out of college by the H.J. Heinz Company where he worked as a sales representative.  Never one to conform, Nelson quickly realized that if he wanted things done correctly, they would have to be done his way!  Hockey taught Nelson a very valuable lesson early on that has set him miles apart from others; always take the risk.  Knowing that there is no reward without risk, Nelson decided to start his own company.  Living in Phoenix, he saw an opportunity to appeal to PETSMART and NG Sales was born.  Nelson started the firm to be a broker who could assist others in getting their products to into retail stores.  NG Sales had a large focus on animal products due to Nelson’s love and passion for animals.  He worked closely with PETSMART and PETCO buyer’s and senior management and was extremely successful in placing products within their stores.  Nelson sold his book of business and merged with another firm, staying on as the Vice President.  Again, realizing that if things are going to get done right, they would have to be done his way, Nelson decided to resign and go back into business for himself.  Product Management Group would be his next venture. 

PMG has a similar structure to what was NG Sales, however PMG offered retail services.  PMG was able to assist companies in getting their products into retail and help maintain those products by offering nationwide retail audits, demonstrations, and incentives.  It is within PMG that For The Earth Corporation came to life.  Sitting at his desk one day, Nelson thought, "I do this all day long for other people, its about time I do it for myself!"  Nelson has a wealth of knowledge in the consumer packaged goods industry from his years of experience in working with big names such as H.J. Heinz, Iams, Eukanuba, Damon Worldwide, Denta Green, Denta Clean, and North Down in both the United States and Canada.  With this knowledge and his “skin in the game attitude”, he decided to launch his first product, What Odor?®  He is 100% devoted and dedicated to being a manufacturer that only makes products that are safe for people, pets, and the planet.  Nelson finds it humorous that he takes advice from a seemingly unintelligent southern gentleman named Earl on NBC, but truly believes in Karma.  His belief is that if we don’t make certain that we protect our planet and the creatures on it, we will pay dearly. 

What Odor?® is a non toxic, non hazardous, biodegradable odor eliminator that works EVERY TIME.  Its formula goes back to the basics of nature.  A unique combination of 41 essential oils work together to aggressively surround particles and bacteria to eliminate odors as opposed to masking them like the competition.   Nelson developed a Multi-Purpose formula as opposed to a Bathroom, Kitchen, Pet, etc. to alleviate the waste that goes into landfills.  His thought was, if consumers are having to buy a formula for every area in their life, that just means there are that many more plastic bottles going into our landfills.  Nelson also wanted to make sure that everything was made in the USA.  With a downturning economy, he knows the importance of supporting and spending within our own country.  For The Earth Corporation also hires persons with disabilities, who might otherwise not have a job, to assist in the fulfillment process.  To help offset the carbon footprint we leave behind, For The Earth Corporation also plants a tree with every purchase through the American Forest Global Re-Leaf program.   Nelson is dedicated to making a lasting impression on Earth by making it a safer place for his generation and the many more to come!
